Wordpress might get Backstabbed

So I recently discovered this new (sort of) content management tool (hereof referred to as ‘CMS’) called ‘ExpressionEngine’ (now abbreviated ‘EE’) which caught my attention because the catch phrase on the front page was something like ‘Say hello to the most flexible web publishing system you’ll ever meet’ which really did get my attention, since I have such a problem coding a wordpress theme - it’s so bloody hard to understand the syntax, for me, and I just can’t push myself enough to really get into it. I mean, I see so many others relishing their wordpress themes and showing off their awesome skills (which I furiously envy) and I just feel lousy because here I am with a goddamn premade theme. Don’t get me wrong, it saves time and it’s easy, premades were meant for someone to use anyway but I just don’t like the feel of looking at my blog and seeing that I didn’t code any of it, I mean HELLO I’M TRYING TO PIMP MY PORTFOLIO AND GIVE OUT A MESSAGE THAT I’M PRETTY DAMN DECENT AT GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGN and here I am… with a premade.

Back to the point, so this EE sounds quite impressing - have a look at it yourself. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m contemplating it (mainly because I saw what an awesome layout/theme it was on at sunshined.org) - I think I might download the free core version and sift through the thing to see if it isn’t too hard to bend to my will, if that is the case I might just be banishing wordpress from my sight (maybe not completely) and I bet if Wordpress had a voice, it would be saying “I think I need to go to a Doctor, so I can get the knife removed from my back.”

C’est la vie.
